SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Medstar and Patient Care ambulances in South Dakota are now using specifically designated vehicles to transport COVID-19 patients.

KELO-TV reports the two services have been selected by the state to help battle the virus. After transport, the truck is completely sterilized before going back in service.

“If the need arises and people need to be transported, we’ll put a second and a third online if we have to get these people where they have to go to get treated,” said Medstar owner Jay Masur.
